Feral

A card game of attention, intention, and interaction, with rules as simple as you make them, or as chaotic as you choose.

It's time to go FERAL.

What is Feral?

The game night equalizer

Want everyone (the kids, the competitive uncle, even your mother-in-law) rolling on the floor laughing? Feral pulls the whole table in and doesn't let go. The goal is simple: be the first to shed your whole hand and return from being Feral.

Made for family & friends

Everyone gets to feel real control and inclusion, not just the loudest player at the table.

Learn in a minute

If you can match a color, an animal, or a number, you already know how to play.

Calm or completely chaotic

Play the base rules, then stack on full-FERAL and CHAOS rules whenever the table is ready.

Four wild suits

Match the color, the animal, or the number

Every card belongs to one of four suits, each with its own creature and botanical art. A card plays on the discard pile if it shares the color, the animal, or the number on top.

How to play

The base rules

We forest creatures suggest playing three rounds with these before you add a thing. After that? Do what the forest calls you to do.

Goal

Be the first to get rid of every card in your hand and return from being Feral.

Deal & begin

Choose a dealer (owner's pick, a crawl race, or rock-paper-scissors). The dealer sets the hand size, deals everyone the same number of cards, picks who goes first and which direction, then flips the top card.

Play a match

On your turn, play a card that matches the color, the animal, or the number on top of the discard pile.

Drop a FERAL card

Play a FERAL card to change the next card to any color, animal, or number you choose. The next player must match your call.

Can't play? Draw up to 3

With no match and no FERAL card, draw up to three cards. Still nothing? Say "pass" and play moves on.

Draw cards

Draw-1 and Draw-3 cards make the next player draw that many, then play a card of their choosing.

The 9: everybody go Feral!

When a 9 hits the pile, all players slap their hand on top. The last hand down (usually on top of the pile) draws 2. Ties? Each tying player draws 1.

CHAOS card

Play a CHAOS card that matches and everyone passes their entire hand to the next player. Watch the tables turn.

Win

Play your final card, announce "I WIN!", and bask in your return from Feral.

Want more?

The base game is just the beginning. Full-FERAL and CHAOTIC rule add-ons ship with the deck. Stack them on for an even wilder night.

The art

Original art, a little untamed

A botanical, art-nouveau look runs through the whole deck: trilliums, datura blooms, and four creatures gone Feral.
